If you struggle with sticking to confusing workout plans and live in Burlington, ON, Reformer Pilates may be just the thing you need to get your fitness journey back on track. Reformer Pilates is a low-impact, compound-muscle exercise system in Burlington that’s been designed to help your muscles get the workout they need — without sacrificing your joints.

What Makes Reformer Pilates in Burlington Unique?

Reformer Pilates in Burlington, ON has been special from the outset! Created by Joseph Pilates in a World War I prison camp, the exercise was first developed to help injured soldiers recover their strength, balance and flexibility.

A Reformer Pilates machine consists of a frame that looks like a bed, with some moving parts. It features a sliding “carriage” that is connected to the frame with a spring, as well as hand straps and a foot bar. Using the resistance of the spring and one’s own body weight, reformer Pilates practitioners in Burlington can engage all kinds of muscles — especially the ones that get missed when following “classic” exercise practices, such as weightlifting.

WHAT DOES “REFORMER PILATES” MEAN?

Reformer Pilates is a unique form of exercise that uses a special machine, also known as the “reformer.” It has a sliding platform, adjustable springs and straps, allowing you to perform a variety of exercises that focus on building strength, flexibility, and body control, which you can try at our Burlington Reformer Pilates studio. The springs provide resistance, which can be adjusted to make reformer pilates exercises easier or harder, depending on your fitness level and goals. This makes Reformer Pilates suitable for people of all ages and abilities looking to a Reformer Pilates studio in Burlington, Ontario.

The key focus of Reformer Pilates in Burington is the core, which includes the muscles in your abdomen, back, and pelvis. However, it also works the entire body, helping to tone and strengthen muscles while improving posture and flexibility. The exercises are low-impact, meaning they put less strain on the joints compared to other forms of exercise.
